Now, that we've talked a bit about the Average American™, let's focus on the Brits, shall we?
When thinking about the UK, a lot of us imagine the streets filled with Tom Hiddlestones, Idris Elbas, Kate Beckinsales and Emilia Clarkes. Unfortunately for everyone, this vision couldn't be any further from reality.
According to statistics, the average Brit stands just a fraction taller than an average American, at 178 cm. The average British woman is 165 cm tall. When it comes to weight, UK is not far behind the US: the average man weighs 84 kg and the average woman - 69kg. It doesn't seem as bad, does it? Well, according to some official reports, by 2025 the UK will be the fattest country in Europe.

Way to go UK, way to go! |
The life expectancy for the Birts is only slightly more optimistic than it is for the Americans: the average man will kick the bucket at 79, while the average woman at 82. The median age of the UK is right on 40.
Let's consider the British family matters, shall we?
The UK has a slightly higher birth rate than the US - 1,9 per woman - but has a lower marriage rate - only 4,5 people per 1,000 of the general population. The Brits have a slightly better chance for a happy marriage though, with the divorce rates being 42%.
Now, let's focus on something that the British are known for: drinking tea!
Everybody knows that the Brits are responsible for like 98% of the tea consumption in the world, right? Except... they are not. The United Kingdom is actually 3rd on the list of countries with the higher tea consumption in the world, with Turkey having the pole position followed by the UK's neighbours, Ireland.

Just look at those two handsome devils! |
In total, there are 134 billionaires living in the UK. BUT, back to the working folk! For their hard work, the Brits get more time off - they have 5,6 weeks of paid vacation and 8 bank holidays (national holidays, that is) per year.
Unfortunately (for them), the Brits are dealing with drastically increasing property prices. Also, their houses are usually extremely tiny - only 76 square metres) and are actually the smallest in Europe.
When it comes to vehicles, the UK is in 34th place in the world with 519 vehicles per 1,000 people.
While most of Europe enjoys a free or low-cost higher education, England is said to be the most expensive place in the world to get a college degree. The UK nationals attending an English university can expect their annual tuition to be $11,715. The class of 2016 owed between $40,000 and $55,000. In Scotland and Wales universities have cheaper fees, with the average debts being respectively: $26,000 and $24,000.
That's all for today! See you soon!
