The White House vs Buckingham Palace

The White House and Buckingham Palace, both are extremely popular since they are the residences of the powerful people.

The White House is the place where the president of the United States is living (currently it is Donald Trump), and it is located in Washington D.C.

Buckingham Palace is in London, and it is a place of reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, currently Queen Elizabeth.


Everyone is interested in how those two houses look like, what Donald Trump can possibly do in his house during the free time or what Queen Elizabeth sees after waking up. Let’s look into those two impressive places and discuss the most interesting aspects.

  1. History, how it all began ...

    WH ⇨ George Washington ( the first president of the country) chose design of the building and the location of it, he died before it was completed, all presidents after him were living there.
    Before 1910 it was known as President’s Palace, President’s Home and the Executive Mansion. The current and official name, the White House, was introduced by Theodore Roosevelt.


    BP ⇨ Firstly, it was only “ Buckingham House”, a place to stay during John Sheffield’s visits (he was the Duke of Buckingham in 1703). In 1820 it was given the ultimate makeover and it was transformed into a palace.
